Editorial Policy
This page describes how content on Malware-Bytes.net is created, reviewed and corrected.
Research and testing
Instructions are checked against current Windows 10 and Windows 11 installations. Where behavior differs between versions, we say so rather than writing to the lowest common denominator. Where something depends on a product version we cannot verify, we describe the mechanism instead of inventing specifics.
What we avoid
- Claiming to be an official vendor site, download source or support channel
- Publishing prices or version numbers that go stale within weeks
- Invented reviews, ratings, testimonials or benchmark figures
- Misleading download buttons or repackaged installers
- Scare-based framing to push a purchase
Review cycle
Every page carries a last-reviewed date. Pages covering product behavior are revisited when the software changes materially; concept explainers are reviewed at least annually.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed, and material corrections are noted on the page. Report one through our contact page.
Affiliate and advertising disclosure
This site does not host software installers. If we ever add affiliate or referral links, they will be labeled on the page where they appear and will never change which recommendation we make. Nothing on the site is paid placement.
