This is an explainer, not a login page. Malware-Bytes.net has no accounts, stores no licence keys and cannot look anything up on your behalf.
What the vendor account usually holds
For most consumer security products the account is where your subscription, the devices using it and your renewal setting live. Moving protection to a new laptop is normally a matter of removing the old device from the seat list and installing on the new one.
Common friction points
- Buying through an app store: billing lives in that store, not the vendor site
- Signing up with a different email than the purchase used
- Old machines still holding a device seat after being retired
Watch for renewal phishing
"Your subscription expired" emails are a favourite scam hook. Check status by opening the app or typing the vendor address yourself instead of following a link. Our phishing explainer covers the tells.
